TUESDAY DIALOGUES

The Role of the Sacred in a Nation’s Polity (when nothing is sacred, everything becomes negotiable)

November’s Tuesday Dialogue (note the 10th not the 3rd) features Jafar Jalili discussing this intriguing topic.

Jafar is a working engineer in water resources and dam safety in SE Queensland.  He graduated in Iran but has been in Australia for more than 12 years and did post graduate work in Newcastle.

Jafar is also a profound thinker who unlike most of us has put pen to paper to express his thoughts on philosophy, ethics, politics, culture and public policy.

Jafar is published in Quadrant; The Spectator Australia and The Daily Telegraph with more than a dozen pieces this year alone..

Jafar is a “small c” conservative who is suspicious of reductionism and in his dialogue next month will ponder the role of the sacred in our politics and society.

This will be a dialogue like no other.  Join us for a fascinating evening.

The Brisbane Dialogues is the only organization in Australia dedicated entirely to acting on the polarization and toxic discourse undermining democracy, prosperity, and progress.

Donations enable us to support other organizations to have better in-person discussions, especially in lower socioeconomic and regional schools which cost more to service. (Our own event-based operations are self-sustaining, with minimal overheads.)
