TUESDAY DIALOGUES

The Evolution Of Sex Differences, Feminism, and Scientific Censorship

We are fortunate to have as guest speaker Bill von Hippel, a professor in psychology at UQ with wide interests who has appeared in many major media outlets. I first heard him on an American think tank podcast talking about the significance of people on the autism spectrum to human progress, and the implications for free speech. He is involved in some lively current academic discussions in areas suggested by the combined topic for discussion.

He is the author of "The Social Leap", a book on human origins published in 2018. Just one of many laudatory reviews of the book to whet your appetite:

"The Social Leap is a rollicking tour through humanity's evolutionary past, and William von Hippel is the consummate tour guide. With equal parts wisdom, humor, authority, and charm, von Hippel shows how our past explains the present and why our well-being rests on an understanding of how our minds evolved."--Roy Baumeister, New York Times bestselling author of Willpower

The Brisbane Dialogues is the only organization in Australia dedicated entirely to acting on the polarization and toxic discourse undermining democracy, prosperity, and progress.

Donations enable us to support other organizations to have better in-person discussions, especially in lower socioeconomic and regional schools which cost more to service. (Our own event-based operations are self-sustaining, with minimal overheads.)
